This is an action for $500 claimed to be due plaintiff as the beneficiary named in a certificate of membership of one Alfred D. Symonds, deceased, in the defendant corporation. The answer denied that plaintiff was in the class designated in the by-laws and charter of the defendant as entitled to be named as a beneficiary.
