Defendant was informed against by the district attorney of Modoc County for the crime of unlawfully selling alcoholic liquors, to wit: “That on or about the twenty-ninth day of May, 1917, and before the filing of this information, at and in the county of Modoc, state of California, said Felix Allen then and there, within the incorporated limits of the town of Alturas, in said county, which was then and there no-license territory, willfully and unlawfully did sell and furnish alcoholic liquor, to wit: whisky, to one Lulu Sisson,” contrary, etc. The cause was tried before a jury and defendant…
