—In an action to recover damages for personal injuries, the defendants 919 Park Place Owners Corp. and Relimare/ Regal Management Service appeal from (1) an order of the Supreme Court, Kings County (Rappaport, J.), dated November 26, 1996, which conditionally granted the plaintiff’s motion to *352strike their answer pursuant to CPLR 3126, and (2) an order of the same court, dated March 21, 1997, which denied their motion for réargument and renewal and struck their answer.

Ordered that the order dated November 26,1996, is affirmed; and it is further,
