Robert Lee Caver was convicted for violating Michigan Compiled Laws § 750.89, assault with intent to rob being armed. After exhausting his direct and state-collateral appeals, Caver filed a federal petition for a writ of habeas corpus, alleging the ineffectiveness of his trial and appellate counsel.
