LAVINE, J.

The defendant, David B. Terwilliger, was found guilty by a jury of manslaughter in the first degree with a firearm in violation of General Statutes § 53a-55a (a). He claims on appeal that he was deprived of his right to a fair trial because the trial court (1) failed to instruct the jury that the general charge on self-defense applied to the lesser included charges against him, (2) minimized his defense of premises defense by wrongly characterizing it as (a) a form of self-defense and (b) a defense allowing only the use of reasonable force, and (3) failed to instruct the jury…
