Quinn, Chief Judge:

A general court-martial convened in the Republic of Vietnam convicted the accused of desertion and impersonating a noncommissioned officer, in violation of Articles 85 and 134, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC §§ 885 and 934, respectively. It imposed a sentence extending to a dishonorable discharge and confinement at hard labor for two years. The case is before this Court to determine whether the trial judge erred to the accused’s prejudice by admitting into *147evidence a record of accused’s previous convictions for unauthorized absences.
