Plaintiff, Cathy Davis, has brought this action for damages alleging that defendants have violated her right of privacy under sections 50 and 51 of the Civil Rights Law, and have misappropriated her “right of publicity”. According to her complaint plaintiff is a well-known professional boxer, being “the first woman to become a licensed boxer” and “the lightweight women’s boxing champion”.
