STEPHENSON, Justice.
This is an action for damages for slander. Trial was by jury, and judgment was rendered for defendant upon the jury ver- diet. The parties will be referred to here as they were in the trial court.
Plaintiff, Dr. Arthur E. Templeton, brought this action against defendant, Dr. N. Jay Rogers. In plaintiff’s supplemental petition it was alleged that defendant had publicly said that plaintiff had “lied in part of his testimony” in a Dallas trial in 1963.
