Ronny D. Saffels and Carol S. Morriss1 filed suit against defendants Kris Rice, Randall Haynes, and R.B. Industries, Inc., (RBI) for wrongful termination in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Missouri’s common law public policy exception to the employment at-will doctrine. The parties filed cross motions for summary judgment and the district court granted each party’s motion.2 The court held that Saffels and Morriss lacked standing to bring a claim for wrongful discharge under either the FLSA or Missouri common law and accordingly dismissed both…
