The original complaint in this cause was filed as a bill of interpleader by Sun Life Insurance Company (“Sun Life”) in the Chancery Court of Hardeman County. The suit was prompted by the fact that proceeds of a life insurance policy upon the life of decedent Early Hicks (“Insured” or *653“Hicks”) was claimed by both Insured’s mother (“Mother”) and his former wife (“Wife”).
