The appellant, Eddie Frank Goodloe, was convicted of trafficking in marijuana, a violation of § 13A-12-231, Ala. Code 1975, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, a violation of § 13A-12-260, Ala. Code 1975. For the trafficking conviction, he was sentenced to 12 years' imprisonment. Because at the time of that offense Goodloe was in possession of a firearm, that sentence was enhanced by 5 years, pursuant to § 13A-12-231(13), and he was sentenced to a total of 17 years' imprisonment on that conviction.
