This is an appeal from a conviction for aggravated sexual assault of a child under the age of fourteen (14) years. Following the jury’s verdict of guilty, the trial court assessed appellant’s punishment at twenty-five (25) years in the Texas Department of Corrections. 1
Appellant advances two points of error. First, he contends that the trial court erred in overruling his motion for a mistrial when the prosecutor in his opening statement to the jury stated that the appellant had made threatening telephone calls to his wife after he had been placed in jail.
