Plaintiff Transit Casualty Company (“Transit”) is a Missouri insurance corpora*1348tion, presently in receivership.1 Defendant Trenwick Reinsurance Company, Ltd. (“Trenwick”) is a Bermuda corporation that does business through Trenwick America Reinsurance Corporation, an affiliated corporation with offices at 111 Fulton Street, New York City. Trenwick reinsures the excess risk on primary insurance policies.
