OPINION

LYDON, Senior Judge:

Plaintiff in this contract case, challenges a damages assessment of $583,146 against it by the United States Department of Agriculture, Forest Service (Forest Service) as a result of plaintiff’s failure to complete a contract it had with the Forest Service “to cut, remove and pay” for specified quantities of timber located in the Rigdon Ranger District of Willamette National Forest in Oregon within the time period specified in the contract, as extended.
