Petitioner in the custody case before the court is the 16-year-old father of an out-of-wedlock infant, to whose adoption he consented. The baby was also surrendered for adoption by the biological mother (hereinafter by the appellation of her choosing, birth mother). The birth mother, also a teen-ager, does not seek to revoke her surrender.
