This is a workmen’s compensation case. Pearl CarTberry was employed by the Reitz Furniture Company as a general handy man. On August 26, 1935, while in the course of his employment standing on an upper rung of a ladder, he fell a distance of fifteen feet striking his side on a pile of planks and then landed on a 'concrete floor. He sustained fractures ’ of the first rib on his right side and the radius near the left wrist, lacerations on his head and chest, and bruises on both knees.
