Appellant Randolph Goss appeals from the trial court’s order granting summary judgment in favor of appellees Houston Community Newspapers and Sarah Mer-tins. We affirm.

BACKGROUND

In August 2004, the Kingwood Observer, a community newspaper owned by Houston Community Newspapers, ran a story written by Sarah Mertins based on a news release from the Harris County Sheriffs Department.
