On May 13, 1942, the Hungerford Coal Company, Inc., hereinafter called the Coal Company, obtained in Police Court, Part II, of the City of Richmond, Virginia, a judgment against S. B. Franklin for $412 and costs. The judgment not having been satisfied, on September 8, 1942, a garnishee summons was issued and served on the Mutual Life Insurance Association, a corporation, and the Virginia Machinery & Well Company, Inc., returnable to the said police court. The summons, reciting the issuance of an execution on August 4, 1942, on the above judgment, commanded the above named garnishee defendants…
