Defendant-Appellant Michael Limjuco Abella (Abella ) appeals from the "Judgment Guilty Conviction and Sentence" entered on December 16, 2015 by the Circuit Court of the First Circuit (Circuit Court ).1 Plaintiff-Appellee State of Hawai'i (the State ) charged Abella with one count of Murder in the Second Degree pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS ) § 707-701.5 (2014).2 After a jury trial, Abella was convicted of Manslaughter in violation of HRS § 707-702(1)(a) (2014).3 The Circuit Court sentenced Abella to a…
