LEWIS R. MORGAN, Circuit Judge:

Appellants Carter and Jones were convicted for the misdemeanor of possessing approximately 1,035 pounds of sugar intended for use in violating the laws prohibiting the manufacture and sale of nontaxpaid alcoholic spirits, 26 U.S.C. § 5601 et seq. 1 They appeal on the sole ground that the trial court erroneously admitted evidence of five previous illicit liquor offenses by Carter, all of them committed ten years or more prior to the trial below.
