The defendant appeals from the judgments of conviction, rendered after a jury trial, of attempt to commit murder in violation of General Statutes §§ 53a-49 (a) (2) and 53a-54a, carrying a dangerous weapon without a permit in violation of General Statutes § 53-206 (a), and threatening in violation of General *403Statutes § 53a-62.1 The defendant claims (1) that the trial court improperly denied his motions for judgment of acquittal concerning the attempt charge because there was insufficient evidence to sustain his conviction on that charge, (2) that the court improperly…
