TAYLOR, Justice.

The constitutionality of a police officer’s actions in demanding a citizen’s identification following an initial offer of assistance are challenged in this case of first impression before the court. Also questioned is the possible “taint” that an improper seizure may have created on subsequently obtained evidence.
