In December 2007, defendant was alleged to have sold a quantity of cocaine to an undercover police officer during a buy/bust operation that was being conducted in the City of Schenectady, Schenectady County. Shortly after the sale took place, defendant was arrested and later charged by indictment with both criminal sale and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree.
