DAMON J. KEITH, Circuit Judge.

Oakland County Police Officer Chad Wolowiec (“Officer Wolowiec”) appeals from the district court’s order denying his motion for summary judgment against Lyniece Nelson’s (“Nelson”) § 1983 claims against him in connection with her daughter’s death. We AFFIRM.

I. BACKGROUND

This case involves the events that led to the unfortunate death of nineteen-year-old Shelly Hilliard (“Hilliard”). 1 On October 19, 2011, Hilliard was staying at a Motel 6 in Madison Heights, Michigan. Officer Wolowiec was also at the motel that day conducting a narcotics investigation.…
