Defendants appeal the trial court’s order requiring defendant Pittman to vacate the office of Wayne County Sheriff and ruling that plaintiff had been properly appointed sheriff. We affirm._
The operative facts are undisputed. In 1981, Wayne County voters adopted a new county charter, pursuant to enabling legislation known as the charter counties act, MCL 45.501 et seq.; MSA 5.302(1) et seq.
