NELSON, Presiding Judge.

James W. Austin (Austin), the respondent employee, suffered an industrial injury to his back while employed by Goettl Brothers Company, one of the petitioners herein, on January 23, 1973. He filed a claim for workmen’s compensation benefits more than 14 months later on April 4, 1974. St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company (Carrier), the insurer of the employer here, denied the claim. A hearing was requested by Austin and held.
