Petitioner John Allen alleges he was convicted on February 23, 1925, in the district court of Pawnee county, Oklahoma, for the crime of murder, and sentenced to serve a life sentence in the State Penitentiary at McAlester, Oklahoma. Thereafter, and on December 20, 1948, petitioner was transferred from the Oklahoma State Penitentiary to the Oklahoma State Reformatory at Granite, Oklahoma.
