OPINION OF THE COURT
FULTON, Senior Judge:
On the date of his trial and conviction by a special court-martial1 whose sentence included a bad-conduct discharge thereby potentially requiring review by this Court,2 the appellant executed a waiver of representation by appellate counsel. The waiver document, a form letter adopted by the staff judge advocate’s office of the convening authority’s command, included the following recital:
