The original hill in this cause was filed by W. N. Mc-Crary, operator of a public ferry across the Tennessee River between points in Humphreys and Benton Counties, to enjoin the operation of a competing ferry by T. W. Sanders.

The ferry involved is known as the Trotter’s Landing ferry and is a link in State High-way No. 1, extending from Nashville to Memphis. For some years prior to the filing of the bill the complainant had been operating a ferryboat, in alliance with O. P.
