This case, except as to the defendant Butterfield, is one where the court clearly has jurisdiction of the parties. The plaintiffs set out that they are the owners of 3,500 shares of the capital stock of the Pacific Mail Steamship Company. This company, it appears, has a capital now of $20,000,000, divided into 200,000 shares of $100 each. The bill then alleges, that the firm of Brown Brothers & Co., of the city of New York, have standing in their names 77,839 shares of the capital stock of this company.
