The plaintiff, a limited partnership of the State of New York, is a stock brokerage firm having its principal offices in the City of New York and a branch office in Morris-town, New Jersey. As a result of a telephone call from the Morristown office, the defendant, a resident of Roselle, Union County, New Jersey, ordered 1,000 shares of Econo-Car International stock on the New York over-the-counter market.
