Lewis, J.:

In early 1990, a vehicle being operated by plaintiff was struck by a vehicle being operated by defendant. In due time, plaintiff filed suit to recover damages for the injuries he sustained in that accident. Defendant admitted liability, and the matter went to trial, before a jury, on the issue of damages. The jury returned a verdict in favor of plaintiff in the amount of $4,221 for economic loss, $250 for pain and suffering, and $250 for mental anguish. Plaintiff is dissatisfied with the verdict and appeals.
