John M. Poindexter was convicted on five felony counts arising from the part he played, while National Security Advisor, in the so-called “Iran/Contra Affair,” see United States v. North, 910 F.2d 843, 851 (“North I”), modified, 920 F.2d 940 (D.C.Cir.1990) (“North II”).
