The plaintiff, with her son and granddaughter, on the evening of July 16, 1925, was traveling in a machine, in an easterly direction along the Pacheco Pass highway in Santa Clara County. The son, Donald Hughes, was driving, and plaintiff, the owner of the machine, was occupying the front seat of the automobile with him. The granddaughter was in the back seat. At about 9 o’clock in the evening the machine in which plaintiff was riding had reached a point on said highway about twelve and one-half miles easterly from the city of Gilroy, and while so traveling on said highway, a large truck,…
