BEAM, Circuit Judge.

Ricky Durham was convicted by a jury of the first degree murder of a United States Postal Service Mail Carrier who was engaged in the performance of his duties 1 and the use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence. 2 On appeal, Durham urges reversal of the district court 3 on numerous grounds. We need address only the following claims in detail: (1) that the government should not have been allowed to use hearsay evidence during cross-examination of a witness; (2) that it was error to admit a copy of a threatening letter received by the victim’s mother; and…
