OPINION AND ORDER

SWEENEY, Judge.

During trial in this government contract case, counsel for defendant discovered that his client, the United States Coast Guard (“Coast Guard”), possessed three boxes of documents relevant to the case that had not been identified or produced to plaintiff during discovery. Then, before plaintiff had an opportunity to review most of the documents, one of the government’s witnesses caused the documents to be destroyed.
