Howard Trimble, Virginia Trimble and Sandra Trimble were injured in an explosion and fire that occurred while they were inspecting a newly-constructed dwelling. The Trimbles filed suit in the Circuit Court of Hamilton County, joining as defendants both their prospective landlords, Kenneth D. Irwin and wife Velma Irwin, and the Seaboard Lacquer, Inc., the manufacturer of a floor-finishing product that had been applied to the floors of the house a few hours prior to the fire.
