This is an action brought by the plaintiff to recover the amount due on a promissory note given to the American Trust Company (which the plaintiff has since taken over) by P. Cartoni Company, a corporation, and indorsed by the defendant by way of guaranty. The plaintiff’s declaration alleges that the note was indorsed in blank, the defendant waiving demand, notice and protest; that there is a balance due on said note of $1,845.
