The Attorney General, on the relation of the appellant, filed a petition in the court below, to which the City of Columbus was the sole defendant, alleging, in substance, that on the 4th day of January, 1943, he was elected by the mayor and city council of the City of Columbus as a policeman for a designated period, that is, his term was to expire with the expiration of the terms of office of the mayor and the members of the city council; that thereafter he was dismissed from the police force by an order made by the appellee’s mayor and city…
