Samuel Pritchitt died testate at his residence, in Davidson County, on the twenty-first day of September, 1891. The second item of his will is in the following language: “I will, devise, and bequeath to my wife, Ann Pritchitt, all the real estate 1 die seized and possessed of, for *473and during her natural life; also, one-fourth of all the balance of my estate, not including what is herein given her absolutely, for her life, and, at her death, the real estate and the said one-fourth of the balance of my estate is to be divided between my two sons, H.
