After a jury in the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County convicted Eric Turkill Washington, appellant, on separate counts of driving while under the influence of alcohol and driving while under the influence of alcohol per se, as well as lesser charges, the court sentenced him, a,s a subsequent offender, to consecutive terms of imprisonment.1

Appellant presents one question for our review, which we have slightly rephrased:2
