The defendant was found guilty by a jury on an amended information charging him with the crime of robbery in the first degree in that in the course of the commission of the crime or of immediate flight therefrom, he or another participant displayed or threatened the use of what he represented by his words or conduct to be a pistol, revolver or other firearm in violation of § 53a-134 (a) (4) of the General Statutes.1 The evidence against the defendant consisted primarily of an accomplice’s testimony.
