The complaint in this case seeks a foreclosure of a mechanic’s lien filed by the plaintiff against real estate of the defendant Hotel Company, hereinafter, for convenience sake, referred to as the defendant, to secure the sum of $18,573.72 claimed to be due the plaintiff for labor performed and materials furnished in the construction of a building thereon, under and by virtue of a contract with the owner.
