The plaintiff, Nicholas Tarzia, appeals from the trial court’s granting of summary judgment in favor of the defendant, Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, doing business as Waldbaum’s Foodmart (Waldbaum’s). On appeal, the plaintiff claims that the trial court improperly (1) denied his motion to amend his complaint to assert a claim against a third party *138defendant and (2) granted Waldbaum’s motion for summary judgment. We agree.
