Plaintiff commenced this action against defendants to quiet title to real property, basing his title on the following: The county taxes for the fiscal year 1928-1929 on the property became delinquent and the property was “sold to the state” pursuant to section 3771 of the Political Code. On July 16, 1934, the tax collector deeded the property to the state under section 3785 of the Political Code. On July 15, 1940, the tax collector sold the property to plaintiff under chapter Villa of title IX of part III of the Political Code, and the property was thereupon deeded by the state to plaintiff.…
