On March 19, 2002, Cathleen Carmen Mary 'Whiting initiated an action under The Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, Oct. 25,1980, T.I.A.S. No. 11670,19 I.L.M. 1501 (“The Hague Convention”) for the return of her daughter, Christina, to Canada. Christina had been taken by her father, Peter Krassner, to the United States without 'Whiting’s consent.
