INTRODUCTION

Sheryl Kathryn Leighton (appellant) sued Rochelle Forster (Rochelle) 1 for breach of an attorney fee contract and an account stated, seeking damages in excess of $114,000. In granting Rochelle summary judgment, the trial court found, among other things, that (1) an engagement letter appellant e-mailed to Rochelle’s husband Bob was not a valid contract because it was never signed (see Bus. & Prof. Code, § 6148 (section 6148)) 2 and (2) any claim for payment of the reasonable value of appellant’s services was barred by the two-year statute of limitations.
