I.Introduction

A jury found appellant Darren D. Minor guilty of the offense of murder, found that Minor committed the murder under the influence of sudden passion arising from an adequate cause, and assessed Minor’s punishment at eighteen years’ confinement. In four issues on appeal, Minor contends that the trial court erroneously charged the jury on the definition of reasonable doubt, erroneously permitted the testimony of a witness who violated “the Rule,” and challenges the constitutionality of article 37.07, section 3(a) of the code of criminal procedure and the…
