By this proceeding brought pursuant to CPLR article 78, petitioners, 307 sergeants in the New York City Police Department, seek an order invalidating part III of examination No. 1613 for promotion to the rank of lieutenant in the police department. Examination No. 1613 consisted of three parts: the administrative test, the technical knowledge test and part III, the interactive test.
