The general question in these cases is whether Ann Striker was seised, at the time of her death, of an estate of inheritance in the premises in controversy. John Hopper, who died in the city of Hew York in August, 1819, was, in his lifetime and at the time of his death, the owner in fee of a farm on Manhattan island, now in the vicinity of Fiftieth street, of which the premises in question are a part.
